Nothing to Brag about Today

I've used up all my vicarious boasting rights, which is probably a good thing. And it's Tuesday, which is always deadly. So...

flying

Here's a nice picture of Hal's behind. AND he's flying with his legs apart again. He may be pretty and heroic and all, but dammit he's NOT particularly graceful.

Ha! That never struck me before -- Hal DOES tend to fly with his legs apart. Though Alex Ross tends to depict him as a VERY graceful flyer.

Of course, GUY always follows the mantra of, "Just THINK and the ring'll take ya. Stop trying to look good doing it."

John is probably the most graceful flyer of the bunch.

I think that Hal has improved over the years, but Gil Kane seemed to show him looking a bit ungainly when he was flying.

Yeah, I think John IS supposed to be the best flyer. Or certainly, the best looking. Guy just gets the job done. Kyle likes to make constructs and stuff.

Ha! Though it would make more sense for a guy to be flying with his legs apart. I can't tell you how many fights my older brother and I got in sitting squished in the back seat of the car because he insisted on sitting with his legs open and his right knee would violate the sacred invisible line of my side of the back seat and force me to sit up against the door. Boys.

OMG, Liss -- my brother and I used to fight like that in the back seat, too! Dad used to park the cooler between us to try to keep each of us in our own "space." Of course, we found ways to fight, anyway.

Ha! I wish my parents had thought of a cooler. That might've worked. But probably not. ;)

Kids in the backseat.

"Mooomm! He/She's touching me!"

Mom in the front seat.

"No one in this family is allowed to ever touch anyone else! Ever again!"

I always swore that I wouldn't say things like this when I grew up and had kids. And guess what? Of course I did.
