Farewell to Winter

I am actually going on a vacation. I NEVER go on vacation, so this is actually rather exciting. My Sweet Baboo is among the top 60 Agricultural Tire sellers in the country...so they are sending us to Hawaii for a week. Well, actually Maui. But who am I to quibble?

I've never been to Hawaii. Cape Cod has pretty much been the sum of my excitement. So I won't be posting for a week, and you'll all have to just get by without any blows to Hal's head, or butt shots. I know that it will be tough, but we can all DO it!

Wait, I won't be on-line for a week? I don't think my heart can stand it. ON the other hand, I do plan on sitting in a hot tub with a tall drink with a tiny umbrella in it for a couple of days, so there is that.

kooeykooeykooey

I fully expect Winter to be completely over and all of the snow melted by the time I get back.

Aloha!

OMG, have fun, Sally! I love Maui -- I've been there several times. I highly recommend attending the Old Lahaina Luau while you're there -- best and classiest luau in the islands. Also be sure to visit the Iao Valley and the top of Haleakala Volcano while you're there. And give artist Vladimir Kush a big hug for me! :-)

i loved the Feast at Lele luau - backdrop of the islands and the ocean - table service - and great performances and food:

Also - check out O'o Farms - they do tours and then have a chef prepared meal using all the organic produce that you've helped gathered - BYOB - beautiful and tasty food...

Maui is great - and be sure to get some tasty Shave Ice (make sure it's the real deal as well - look for the green machine - otherwise it's just a snow cone - NO COMPARISON!!)

.... and if you do the Road to Hana - make sure you leave early so you can really enjoy the experience - beautiful!!!

Oh, man, the road to Hana is a doozy! It was fun, but next time I think I'll take the bus instead of driving a rental. ;-)

Also recommended: Taking a Trilogy catamaran over to the island of Lanai'i to go snorkling at Sharkfin Cove. DIVINE. And it's whale season, so now's a good time to go out with the Pacific Whale Foundation to visit the humpbacks. :-)

We made it there and back in one piece! It was GORGEOUS! We stayed at the Hyatt Regency on Maui, as part of the corporate experience, and I have to say that they spoiled us royally.

There is however still PLENTY of Winter left, although I do have to say that the snowdrifts have shrunk considerably which is nice.

But I have to go to work tomorrow, which is depressing.

Cover of Justice League International...I forget the exact number, but it's the one where Booster and Beetle steal all of Max's money so tthey can open a casino on the tropical island of Kooey Kooey Kooey. Hilarity naturally ensues.
