Tuesday Thumpings
I decided to change things up a bit this week. Normally, I would be offering you another toothsome rendering of Hal getting thwacked, or maybe Guy or Kyle. Probably not John. John just doesn't seem to be hit in the head. Heck, even Alan got hit in the head sometimes.
But I saw this...and couldn't resist.

That's Mister Reyes, aka Jaime, the "Blue Beetle's" Dad. Thumping an unknown baddie WITH HIS CANE! The Reyes family are some of the best supporting characters ever.

Good point. They are as important to the tone of the book as much as Jaime is.
Which is why I'm a bit ambivalent about the new Blue Beetle book coming out on Wednesday. The OLD "new" Beetle book is only a couple of years old...and it was as close to comic book perfection as a book can come. Why screw around with a perfectly good thing? It isn't as though it could possible be improved upon, and the continuity isn't so messed up that it needs to be changed.
Sometimes I really wonder about the Powers That Be.
