Egad!

It seems as if it has been forever since I actually posted something, but it has been something of a busy week.  I had to take my daughter to get surgery on her broken foot, which went well, but man, she is on some SERIOUS medication!  That's another six weeks, on top of the original four weeks, since we kept being sent to a different specialist, and it took a week each time to get the appointment.  Sheesh!

Then my debit card was hacked by some low life in Georgia.  Nothing against Georgia, but I've never been there, and I don't go to race tracks nor do I shop at Walmart.  Fortunately my bank realized this, and cancelled the card, and I got the money back, which wasn't too much, but still...it's the principal of the thing!  And it would have been nice if my bank had actually notified me that my card was being cancelled BEFORE I tried to use it, which was a tad embarrassing.

And I'm trying to get my taxes together, and it is supposed to snow a foot tomorrow, and I'm feeling awfully cranky.

So very very cranky.

Fortunately, there are new books on the horizon.

Has anyone ever had their credit cards hijacked?  It's a horrible feeling!

Oh the humanity!

Someone got ahold of my debit card info a couple years ago, spent about 600 bucks. Most of it some package deal to Worlds of Fun. I hope they had a good time on my dime. I found out on my birthday. My bank was very apologetic, and I got the money back, but kind of a crappy day.

I haven't had any credit card problems. Your week is making me really appreciate my boring life.

Wow, Calvin, that's a lot of cash! I'm glad that you were able to get it back, but...sheesh!

Shelly, I much prefer boring. Seriously.

My corporate Amex got jacked several times, Sally. I used to travel a lot and used it a lot for online purchases (work-related). Fortunately, Amex has a top-notch security review process, and identified the problem each time within one or two purchases. They called me and asked if I was in a) the UK b) California or c) using my card for iTunes. Each time the answer was no, and the immediately cancelled the card and overnighted a replacement to me. Still a pain, since I had things automatically billed to it, but better than the alternative.

One of the security people told me that iTunes purchases were a major tip-off -- fraudsters would use them to 'test' a card, and when they went through, they'd go nuts.

Bryan, I'm glad that Amex was able to catch the thieves so promptly. But still, it is so annoying! In fact, my bank told me to call them when I am planning to travel, so that they don't cancel my card if I use it ten states away from where I live...which I never would have thought of, because I am hopelessly naive sometimes.

If you haven't seen the Lego Movie it may not make sense.

Thank you Duncan. I haven't seen the movie yet,but I would certainly like to! I do know that Wonder Woman and Hal are supposed to be in it though, which is nice.
